GENERAL ASPECT
Strongly built, with a short back, very active. The Labrador's skull is broad, the chestwell descended and the ribs well developed; the loins and hindquarters are broad and powerful.

BEHAVIOR – CHARACTER
Good character, very agile, with an excellent nose, a dgentle ent with a passion for water. A faithful companion, capable of adapting everywhere, the Labrador is Intelligent, ardent and docile, he only asks to please. Naturally friendly, without any trace of aggression; nor should he be excessively fearful.

HEAD
Its skull is large, well defined without thick (meaty) cheeks, its stop is marked, his nose broad, nostrils well developed.
Its muzzle is powerful and should not whistle.
Its jaws of medium length with strong teeth and presenting a perfect, regular and complete scissor bite, that is to say that the upper incisors cover the lower ones in close contact and are set square to the jaws .
Its medium-sized eyes express intelligence and good character. Brown or hazel in color.
The ears are neither large nor heavy, they fall against the head and are set rather backwards.

NECK
Clean, powerful and strong, fitting into well-placed shoulders.

BODY
The one above is horizontal.
The loin is broad, short and strong.
The chest is broad and deep with rounded ribs.
This appearance should not be due to excess weight.

TAIL
Distinctive trait of the breed: very thick at the birth gradually tapering towards the end, of medium length, devoid of fringe, but completely covered with short, thick, dense hair which gives an appearance of roundness described under the name of “otter tail”. It can be carried cheerfully, but it should not curl over the back.

MEMBERS
FOREQUARTS
Overview: The forelegs are straight from the elbow to the ground, theyare seen from the front or in profile.
Shoulders: Long and oblique.
Forearm: Good bone and straight.
Forefeet: Round, compact: well arched toes and well developed pads.

HINDQUARTERS
Overview: Well developed, the rump does not descend towards the tail.
Stifle (knee): Well angled.
Metatarsal/Hock: The joint (point) of the hocks is gooddescended. Cow hocks should be avoided.
Hind feet: Round, compact; fingers well arched andpads well developed.

APPEARANCES
Clear gaits, covering a lot of ground. The front and rear limbs move in planes parallel to the body axis.

DRESS
Coat quality: The coat is a distinctive trait of the Labrador. He isshort and dense, without waves or fringes; it gives to the touchthe impression of being quite rough; the undercoat is weather resistant.

HAIR COLOR
Completely black, yellow or brown (liver-chocolate).
The yellow ranges from light cream to red (fox). A small stainwhite is allowed on the chest.

SIZE
Ideal height at the withers
Males: 56 – 57 cm
Females: 54 – 56 cm

DEFAULTS : Any deviation from the above must be considered as a defect which will be penalized according to its severity and its consequences on the health and well-being of the dog and on its ability to perform its traditional work.

DEFECTS LEADING TO EXCLUSION:
• Aggressive or fearful dog.
• Any dog with obvious order abnormalities
physical or behavioral will be disqualified.

NB:
• Males must have two normal-appearing testicles completely descended into the scrotum.
• Only healthy dogs capable of performing the functions for which they were selected, and whose morphology is typical of the breed, can be used for breeding.
